Hi! My name is Kellie Tagawa. I am an artist, animator, and storyteller born and raised in Colorado. In the "wild-west" suburbs of the greater Denver region, I grew watching cartoons, making stories with my older sister, and drawing whenever I could. I have always been an art-kid. Even before I could read and write, I was drawing my own storybooks and accrued many colored pencils as gift my from relatives.
As I got older, I knew I wanted to be an artist, so I decided to pursue animation for my love of storytelling and movies. So, I got me some education at California College of the Arts (CCA), where I completed my BFA in Animation.
As an artist, my goal is to make others happy. Whether it's a gag-comic or a story or a piece of movement in a greater film, I hope to bring smiles to the people around me. I want to create connections and bring people up with my art.
Now-a-days, when I'm not animating or looking for that sweet follow-thru action, I am out walking my dog, playing video games, catching up on TV shows, snowboarding, or reading. When I am drawing, I like to listen to show-tunes, pop/rock radio, or Watsky.
And here's a quote for your reading pleasure: "I argue we choose to be good because of our bond with other people and our innate desire to treat them with dignity. Simply put, we are not in this alone." Chidi Anagonye - The Good Place (s2 ep13)
